Voter Independence Project (VIP)

The Self-Determination Team is leading the Advocacy Center's election year efforts with the Voter Independence Project (VIP), funded with a grant the Center received under the Help America Vote Act.

VIP's 2008 activities are designed to

Promote voter registration, voter education and voter participation
Promote compliance with laws and best practices by election officials and public agencies
Assist with voter self-empowerment and problem solving
Remove systemic barriers to civic participation for persons with disabilities
