The Advocacy Center receives funding from eight federal grants:
Section 112 of the Rehabilitation Act at 29 U.S.C. §732
CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: VR clients or VR applicants of all Vocational Rehabilitation services and other programs funded under the Rehabilitation Act, such as Centers for Independent Living.
SERVICES: Inform and advocate for clients or applicants in their relationships with projects, programs, and services provided under this Chapter including assistance and advocacy in pursuing legal, administrative, or other appropriate remedies to ensure the protection of rights and facilitation of access through individual and systemic advocacy.
Ticket to Work and Work Incentive Improvement Act of 1999 at 42 U.S.C. §1320b-21
CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: Individuals who receive SSDI or SSI benefits and have a barrier to obtaining, or retaining employment.
SERVICES: assist and advocate for clients under the Ticket to Work Program, vocational rehabilitation or other employment services as well as on any other legal, administrative or other appropriate remedies so long as it relates to obtaining or retaining employment. No litigation against SSA, except for overpayments representation.

CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: ''developmental disability'' defined as a severe, chronic disability attributable to a mental or physical impairment or combination of mental and physical impairments; that is manifested before the individual attains age 22; is likely to continue indefinitely; and results in substantial functional limitations in 3 or more major life activities, such as:
For infants and young children an individual, who has a substantial developmental delay or specific congenital or acquired condition, may be considered to have a developmental disability without meeting 3 or more of the criteria described above if the individual, without services and supports, has a high probability of meeting those criteria later in life.
CLIENT SERVICES: Pursue legal, administrative, and other appropriate remedies, provide information and referral, training, investigate incidents of abuse and neglect, have access to records and individuals and educate policy makers.
Protection and Advocacy for Individual with Mental Illness Act of 1986 at 42 U.S.C. §10801 et seq.
CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: individual with a significant mental illness or emotional impairment residing in a mental health facility, in the process of being admitted to a mental health facility or within 90 days of admission to a mental health facility or living in the community. Preference for representation must be given to those individuals residing in a mental health facility. Mental health facilities include jails, homeless shelters and other residences providing mental health treatment and services.
CLIENT SERVICES: Pursue legal, administrative, and other appropriate remedies, provide information and referral, training, investigate incidents of abuse and neglect, have access to records and individuals and educate policy makers.
Section 509 of the Rehabilitation Act at 29 U.S.C. §794e
CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: individuals with disabilities who meet the ADA definition of disability (a mental, physical or sensory impairment which substantially limits one or more of their major life activities) and need services that are beyond the scope or eligibility requirements of: The Client Assistance Program (CAP) Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (PADD) Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI)
CLIENT SERVICES: Services under PAIR funding can include any of those allowable under PADD or PAIMI grants.
Children’s Health Act of 2000 at 42 U.S.C. §300d-53
CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: Individuals with a traumatic brain injury
CLIENT SERVICES: Pursue legal, administrative, and other appropriate remedies, provide information and referral, training, investigate incidents of abuse and neglect, have access to records and individuals and educate policy makers.
Help America Vote Act of 2002 at 42 U.S.C. §15461
CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: Individuals with disabilities who desire to participate in the electoral process.
CLIENT SERVICES: Secure election access including advocacy, education and assistance in registering to vote, casting a vote and making polling places accessible. No voting related litigation may be funded under PAVA.
Improving Access to Assistive Technology for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 2004 at 29 U.S.C. §3002
CLIENT ELIGIBILITY: Individuals with disabilities in need of assistive technology services or devices.
CLIENT SERVICES: Pursue legal, administrative, and other appropriate remedies, provide information and referral, training, investigate incidents of abuse and neglect, have access to records and individuals and educate policy makers.
